« Alliance Vita et la Fondation Lejeune me

désignent comme le candidat défendant le mieux

la vie et la dignité humaine ! »

Chers amis,

Hacking Accusations Against Russia Are Sign of Washington’s Desperation
by Strategic Culture Foundation on Sun, Oct 30, 2016
The Obama administration is now accusing Russia of cyber-crime and trying to disrupt the US presidential election. The claim is so far-fetched, it is hardly credible. More credible is that the US is reeling from Putin’s stunning humiliation earlier this week.Since June, US media and supporters of Democrat presidential contender Hillary Clinton have been blaming Russian state-sponsored hackers for breaking into the Democratic party’s database. It is further alleged that Moscow is stealthily trying to influence the outcome of the election, by releasing damaging information on Clinton, which might favor Republican candidate Donald Trump.Russia has vehemently denied any connection to the cyber-crime charges, or trying to disrupt the November poll.

Russian ‘Train Surfers’ Risk Their Lives for a Unique Thrill

Russian teenagers are risking their lives in a deadly new craze – surfing fast moving inter city trains. It has become a common sight in the capital Moscow to see the youngsters – usually sporting distinctive ski goggles and masks – clinging to the back of underground trains to hitch a free ride. But some thrill seekers are now taking the craze to new heights – mounting the roofs and standing between carriages of St Petersburg-bound locomotives travelling up to 155mph.

Post-Maidan Ukraine Has Become a Full Fledged Totalitarian State
by Volodymyr Chemerys on Sun, Oct 30, 2016
This article, which originally appeared in Ukrainian on a Ukrainian website, is indicative of a growing realization in Ukraine that those who supported the « revolution » for freedom and democracy in that country were duped. The author, however, sadly maintains the baseless preconception that Russia is the ultimate model of totalitarianism that Ukraine must avoid – in fact today’s Russia bares no resemblance to the reign-of-terror state Ukraine has degenerated into. But the acknowledgement that the war in Donbass is being used by the Kiev regime to maintain control over society is very significant

Why Hillary Won’t Unleash World War III
by Pepe Escobar on Sun, Oct 30, 2016
The record shows Hillary “We Came, We Saw, He Died” Clinton is the ‘Queen of War’.She is fully supported by virtually the whole US establishment; a bipartisan, neocon/neoliberalcon, regime change/”humanitarian” imperialist axis.On the opposite side, for all his personal pathology problems and incoherent twitter-mouth ramblings, Donald Trump seemed to be on the money when he said that if elected, Hillary would use Syria to unleash WWIII.To check out if that holds, let’s start with an essential backup. The ‘Queen of War’, at the final US presidential debate in Las Vegas: « A no-fly zone [in Syria] can save lives and hasten the end of the conflict. »

BRICS Do Not Lack Mortar: What Detractors Should Know

A lot of people want to see the BRICS fail. Western nations, in particular the United States and Britain, are prime suspects. However, there are plenty of unwitting commentators in the emerging world who are playing into the West’s hands. Each year, as the BRICS summit draws near, the cacophony from these haters grows louder. Questions about the viability and relevance of the BRICS are raised in the media.

» Elle parle d’or.

Halloween comes just in time for the U.S. presidential elections. And the stench of sulphur is so strong, Chavez is choking from his grave. Soul-sucking vampires, hoards of the undead, all led by a truly demonic ambassador from the darkest regions of the netherwold, coalesce to bring the world down with them. A scary Pied Piper Clown King is the least of our worries as the dead return to haunt the living masses. Unfortunately, this Halloween will not end on November 1st. It’s just getting started, the barriers between the world of normal people and that of the unholy elite are being blasted open by the intensity of their evil emanations.

Join us for this year’s Halloween special as we document the monster invasion, the zombie apocalypse, the horror show that is … the 2016 presidential election!

The Invisible Government: War, propaganda, Clinton & Trump

John Pilger
Global Research

Media_Propaganda.jpg

The American journalist, Edward Bernays, is often described as the man who invented modern propaganda. The nephew of Sigmund Freud, the pioneer of psycho-analysis, it was Bernays who coined the term « public relations » as a euphemism for spin and its deceptions.

In 1929, he persuaded feminists to promote cigarettes for women by smoking in the New York Easter Parade – behaviour then considered outlandish. One feminist, Ruth Booth, declared, « Women! Light another torch of freedom! Fight another sex taboo! » Bernays’ influence extended far beyond advertising. His greatest success was his role in convincing the American public to join the slaughter of the First World War. The secret, he said, was « engineering the consent » of people in order to « control and regiment [them] according to our will without their knowing about it ».

He described this as « the true ruling power in our society » and called it an « invisible government ».

Today, the invisible government has never been more powerful and less understood. In my career as a journalist and film-maker, I have never known propaganda to insinuate our lives and as it does now and to go unchallenged.

Imagine two cities. Both are under siege by the forces of the government of that country. Both cities are occupied by fanatics, who commit terrible atrocities, such as beheading people. But there is a vital difference.

In one siege, the government soldiers are described as liberators by Western reporters embedded with them, who enthusiastically report their battles and air strikes. There are front page pictures of these heroic soldiers giving a V-sign for victory. There is scant mention of civilian casualties.

In the second city – in another country nearby – almost exactly the same is happening. Government forces are laying siege to a city controlled by the same breed of fanatics. The difference is that these fanatics are supported, supplied and armed by « us » – by the United States and Britain. They even have a media centre that is funded by Britain and America. Another difference is that the government soldiers laying siege to this city are the bad guys, condemned for assaulting and bombing the city – which is exactly what the good soldiers do in the first city.

Confusing? Not really. Such is the basic double standard that is the essence of propaganda. I am referring, of course, to the current siege of the city of Mosul by the government forces of Iraq, who are backed by the United States and Britain and to the siege of Aleppo by the government forces of Syria, backed by Russia. One is good; the other is bad.

What is seldom reported is that both cities would not be occupied by fanatics and ravaged by war if Britain and the United States had not invaded Iraq in 2003. That criminal enterprise was launched on lies strikingly similar to the propaganda that now distorts our understanding of the civil war in Syria. Without this drumbeat of propaganda dressed up as news, the monstrous ISIS and Al-Qaida and al-Nusra and the rest of the jihadist gang might not exist, and the people of Syria might not be fighting for their lives today.

Some may remember in 2003 a succession of BBC reporters turning to the camera and telling us that Blair was « vindicated » for what turned out to be the crime of the century. The US television networks produced the same validation for George W. Bush. Fox News brought on Henry Kissinger to effuse over Colin Powell’s fabrications. The same year, soon after the invasion, I filmed an interview in Washington with Charles Lewis, the renowned American investigative journalist. I asked him, « What would have happened if the freest media in the world had seriously challenged what turned out to be crude propaganda? »

He replied that if journalists had done their job, « there is a very, very good chance we would not have gone to war in Iraq ».

It was a shocking statement, and one supported by other famous journalists to whom I put the same question — Dan Rather of CBS, David Rose of the Observer and journalists and producers in the BBC, who wished to remain anonymous. In other words, had journalists done their job, had they challenged and investigated the propaganda instead of amplifying it, hundreds of thousands of men, women and children would be alive today, and there would be no ISIS and no siege of Aleppo or Mosul. There would have been no atrocity on the London Underground on 7thJuly 2005. There would have been no flight of millions of refugees; there would be no miserable camps.

Texas: Evidence supports likely link between voting machines and Clinton Foundation

Could these connections be enough to implicate the Clinton Foundation in the alleged early vote rigging in Texas?

As usual, the internet has come through as the ultimate watchdog while the supposed safeguards of our democracy have failed.

A Gab user by the name « Special Prosecutor Will Logan » has found some stunning information.

Note: as Gab is a members only site, you’ll have to join to see his actual posts, but we included all pertinent information in the article.

mccarthy_640x678.jpg

Comment: Go here to see full size.

According to OpenSecrets, the company who provided the alleged glitching voting machines is a subsidiary of The McCarthy Group.

The McCarthy Group is a major donor to the Clinton Foundation – apparently donating 200,000 dollars in 2007 – when it was the largest owner of United States voting machines. Or perhaps the 200,000 dollars went to paying Bill Clinton for speeches?

Either way, it doesn’t look good.

But there’s more.
Comment: Texas early voters are reporting that the voting machines switched their votes from Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton, but none of the other choices were affected on a straight Republican ticket. Perhaps all the yap about the election being rigged may not be that far off the mark.

Rabid Israeli justice minister claims BDS wants to ‘wipe the Jewish nation off the face of the Earth’

Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked has accused the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement of wanting to « wipe the Jewish nation off the face of the Earth » and of being « deeply rooted in anti-Semitism. »

Shaked made the remarks Sunday at the opening plenary of the Jewish Agency for Israel’s latest board of governors meeting.

The board, which meets at least three times a year, is the central policy-making body of the Jewish Agency, a large nonprofit organization which says it aims to « connect the global Jewish family. »

Addressing the board in Jerusalem, Shaked warned « all those agents of ignorance and hatred » against testing Israel’s strength and determination to defend the Jewish state, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Podesta emails: Clinton team deemed Benghazi leaks a ‘very different kind of warfare’

RT

Correspondence among senior Clinton campaign staff released by WikiLeaks in Sunday’s tranche of Podesta emails shows her staff discussing leaks from the Benghazi committee as a « very different kind of warfare. »

Emails from March 14, 2015 reveal the campaign team’s apparent suspicion that the House Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman, Republican Trey Gowdy, was selectively leaking information from the committee. « State just called to tell me that Mike Schmidt seems to have what appear to be summaries of some of the exchanges in the 300 emails the committee has, » Clinton’s traveling press secretary Nick Merrill writes to director of communications Jennifer Palmieri. « Again, it appears that he does not have the email but that someone, likely from the committee, is slipping him cherry-picked characterizations of the exchanges. I haven’t heard directly from Schmidt yet but will circle back when I do, » he adds.

Palmieri responds: « This is no bueno. This is some kind of bullshit. Adding John [Podesta] to this chain. « If Gowdy is doing selective leaks, we are in very different kind of warfare. » Just a week later, Gowdy formally requested that Hillary Clinton turn over her private email server to a third party for a « neutral » investigation.

Clinton Trolls Losing Their Minds: « Extra! Extra! FBI Director Comey Working with Putin! »

Howard Dean blames the FBI reopening of the Clinton email server investigation on…Vladimir Putin.

Hillary Clinton surrogate and former DNC former chair, Howard Dean was the first Democrat to invoke Putin’s name in association with the FBI’s decision to resume the probe into Hillary Clinton’s email server investigation.

Don’t be surprised if you begin seeing the Clinton crime syndicate start fictitiously connecting Comey to Russia to Putin to Assange and somehow back to Trump.

The « Putin blame game » did not take long this time around.

The Duran was placing wagers as to when Putin’s name would be invoked so as to divert and distract from another Hilary Clinton crime.

Peter Lavelle called it with a « Saturday Putin name drop » prediction…though The Duran’s Vladimir Rodzianko called the method of Putin invocation saying, « we will see Putin’s name dropped in some idiot’s twitter stream. »

That idiot is Hillary Clinton crony, and 2004 Democratic Presidential nominee, Howard Dean who tweeted on Saturday…

Comment: We have to admit, it is quite amusing to watch the Clinton groupies tie themselves into knots of cognitive dissonance-induced outrage at the clearly « partisan » behavior of an FBI director they would have praised highly just one week ago.

The Beast’s last gasp: Gold, capitalism and China’s threat to world liberalism

Matthew Raphael Johnson

china_rr.jpg

There is no getting out of the present American Depression. Private sector debt is fast approaching $20 trillion, not including the massive interest to be added over the foreseeable future. Given that war with either Russia or China would be suicidal for the US – let alone both together – the only rational reading of the Regime’s provocation on both fronts is to unify the country for the sake of economic recovery. FDR did the same in 1941 against a stubborn Depression. Unfortunately, FDR had a unified nation, a basically moral people and a national, civic will. The national leadership was overwhelmingly seen as legitimate. Yes, it was abused and manipulated, ultimately destroying it, but it is something that the US today has none of.

The US has no interest in a war with anyone, and certainly should not have any military presence in south Asia or the Baltics. These countries are more than willing to trade with the US, so the purpose can only be for exploitation – to protect the massive investments ultimately destroying the US economy. This is corporate welfare of the worst kind.

The Americans, further, have no interest in who controls the South China Sea in the same way as she has no interest in the Japanese Co-Prosperity Sphere. Japan’s rise to power after 1900 made her the natural leader of East Asia. China is in the same position now. There’s no moral issue one way or another with a regional hegemon.

Recently, The Philippines took China to the International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea over the issue. Any college sophomore should know that Manila would never take such a provocative action. Sure enough, it was the US masquerading as the Philippines, suing China though the agency of Paul Reichler of the Boston law firm of Foley Hoag. Of course, the American press took the State Department at its word as always. Since China sits on the Security Council, the « Philippine » victory was of no interest to them. The UN has no authority in the area or anywhere else, so the « legal » defeat was ignored. More recently, American arrogance towards President Duterte forced a rapprochement between China and the Philippines, showing yet against the irrationality of American foreign policy.

Yemeni prison: Saudi-led airstrike kills at least 60

RT

at_Yemen_prison.jpg

At least 60 people, including inmates, were killed in a Saudi-led coalition airstrike on the Houthi-controlled Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, relatives told Reuters. The prison in question is located in the city’s al-Zaydiyah district and was reportedly holding 84 inmates. It was shelled three times late Saturday, Hashem al-Azizi, deputy governor of the Houthi rebel-controlled Hodeidah province of the same name, told Reuters.

A witness at the prison site told the news agency the entire building was destroyed and medics pulled bodies from under the rubble – many of them missing limbs. One of the strikes allegedly targeted the building directly, while two others hit the prison gate and nearby administration buildings.

According to Ruptly news agency, a Saudi-led coalition airstrike also hit the port of Hodeidah. The video filmed by Ruptly crew shows port infrastructure destroyed by mortars and still smoking, while firefighters try to extinguish the flames. There was no immediate comment on the airstrike from the Saudi-led coalition.

Saudi Arabia intervened in the Yemen conflict to fight Houthi rebels and restore ousted Sunni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to power in March 2015. The intervention has so far claimed the lives of at least 10,000 people, including almost 4,000 civilians, according to the latest UN figures.

The majority of victims are killed in airstrikes. Since the beginning of the conflict, there have been reports of Saudi jets targeting schools, hospitals, marketplaces, and other civilian buildings.

Comment: Saudi Arabia is not being held accountable for its atrocities in Yemen, supported and supplied by the US and UK. In addition, the UN is providing cover for its war crimes against the Yemeni population by, once again, awarding it a position on the UN Human Rights Council. Human wrongs! It appears there is no standard at the UN that can’t be bought by power, greed and agenda. It is owned.

German Air Force: Procurement problems create 2-year downturn in combat capability

RT
2016-10-30 11:19:00

5815be.jpg

Germany is experiencing « serious problems » with its military aircraft procurement, which may soon result in an inability to maintain the proper level of combat capability, according to Bundeswehr documents obtained by media. The German newspaper Welt am Sonntag obtained a memo, signed by German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen, which states that by 2021, the operating life of the Transal (the Franco-German C-160 transport aircraft) will end.

The operational use of the new aircraft, the A400M « Atlas » (produced by Airbus) is « unlikely to be expected before 2023, » Welt am Sonntag writes, citing the document. As a result, this can lead to « a temporary gap in the demand coverage, and possibly to restrictions in order fulfillment » by the Bundeswehr.

It is believed that the decision to buy the Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules (a four-engine turboprop US military transport aircraft) could provide a short-term solution. However, this comes with setbacks as it involves France.

Earlier this month, Germany and France signed an agreement to share transport planes and an air base in the French city of Orleans. The agreement outlines the two countries’ intention to share C-130J Super Hercules military transport planes, French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in Paris in early October, AFP reported. France ordered four C-130Js from US aviation company Lockheed Martin in January, and Germany has been looking to acquire four to six of the same aircraft and base them in France, German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said.

Former prosecutors shocked over Comey’s latest disclosure of new evidence compounds criticism

jamescomey.jpg

James Comey’s surprise announcement that investigators are examining new evidence in the probe of Hillary Clinton’s email server put the FBI director back under a harsh spotlight, reigniting criticism of his unusual decision to discuss the high-profile case in front of the media and two congressional committees.

Comey’s former colleagues said his public appearances last summer may have left the director feeling he had no choice but to let the public know when new information possibly relevant to the case arose — in this instance, according to a U.S. official, emails obtained during an investigation into allegations that former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) exchanged sexually explicit messages with an underage girl.

Some former prosecutors and Justice Department officials said the stir caused by the letter Comey sent Congress Friday announcing the FBI was examining new evidence relevant to the Clinton probe underscored the risks he took when he parted with the usual practice by publicly defending and explaining the FBI’s work on the case, even though no charges were filed.

« I got a lot of respect for Jim Comey, but I don’t understand this idea of dropping this bombshell which could be a big dud, » said former federal prosector Peter Zeidenberg, a veteran of politically sensitive investigations. « Doing it in the last week or 10 days of a presidential election without more information, I don’t think that he should because how does it inform a voter? It just invites speculation … I would question the timing of it. It’s not going to get done in a week. »
Comment: « Doing it in the last week or 10 days of a presidential election without more information, I don’t think that he should because how does it inform a voter? »

What? If there is more to this case, and we now suspect there is, the voting public deserves to know the criminal – or not – circumstances surrounding a candidate to be president. It is not about timing or when something will be done. It is about the public’s right to assess this choice based on all possible and current information, no matter how late in the game. Elections are full of innuendo and false accusations between candidates and committees. Nobody does a thing to hide this. Why should there be covert measures by the FBI to conceal/not reveal new information that may greatly impact and change the course of the nation?

18 revelations from Wikileaks’ hacked Clinton emails

Killary.jpg

Wikileaks has been releasing hacked emails from the account of Hillary Clinton’s campaign boss. What do they say?

The anti-secrecy website says it will release tens of thousands more emails between now and election day.

Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, whose emails were hacked, has claimed the Russian government was behind the leak and the Trump campaign knew about it in advance.

He has refused to confirm or deny the emails’ authenticity, suggesting some could have been doctored, without so far pinpointing any of the correspondence as fake.

These messages are different from the other Clinton email controversy, when she was found to have and broken government rules by exclusively operating a private server from her upstate New York home while secretary of state.

The ‘American Dream,’ revisited

Will Trump pull a Brexit times ten? What would it take, beyond WikiLeaks, to bring the Clinton (cash) machine down? Will Hillary win and then declare WWIII against her Russia / Iran / Syria « axis of evil »? Will the Middle East totally explode? Will the pivot to Asia totally implode? Will China be ruling the world by 2025?

Amidst so many frenetic fragments of geopolitical reality precariously shored against our ruins, the temptation is irresistible to hark back to the late, great, deconstructionist master Jean Baudrillard. During the post-mod 1980s it was hip to be Baudrillardian to the core; his America, originally published in France in 1986, should still be read today as the definitive metaphysical/geological/cultural Instagram of Exceptionalistan.

By the late 1990s, at the end of the millennium, two years before 9/11 – that seminal « before and after » event – Baudrillard was already stressing how we live in a black market maze. Now, it’s a black market paroxysm. Global multitudes are subjected to a black market of work – as in the deregulation of the official market; a black market of unemployment; a black market of financial speculation; a black market of misery and poverty; a black market of sex (as in prostitution); a black market of information (as in espionage and shadow wars); a black market of weapons; and even a black market of thinking.

Way beyond the late 20th century, in the 2010s what the West praises as « liberal democracy » – actually a neoliberal diktat – has virtually absorbed every ideological divergence, while leaving behind a heap of differences floating in some sort of trompe l’oeil effect. What’s left is a widespread, noxious condition; the pre-emptive prohibition of any critical thought, which has no way to express itself other than becoming clandestine (or finding the right internet niche).
Comment: « That’s where the American ‘dream’ seems to be heading. It’s time to take the next exit ramp. » Those awake are already on that exit ramp, with the pedal to the metal.

T.J. Coles interviews John Pilger on his new documentary, The Coming War on China

T.J. Coles, author of Britain’s Secret Wars (2016, Clairview Books), talks to multi-awarded-winning journalist, author and filmmaker, John Pilger, about his new documentary, The Coming War on China, released in cinemas soon.

TJC: Please tell us about your new film.

JP: The Coming War on China is my 60th film and perhaps one of the most urgent. It continues the theme of illuminating the imposition of great power behind a facade of propaganda as news. In 2011, President Obama announced a ‘pivot to Asia’ of US forces: almost two-thirds of American naval power would be transferred to Asia and the Pacific by 2020.

The undeclared rationale for this was the ‘threat’ from China, by some measure now the greatest economic power. The Secretary of Defense, Ash Carter, says US policy is to confront those ‘who see America’s dominance and want to take that away from us’.

The film examines power in both countries and how nuclear weapons, in American eyes, are the bedrock of its dominance. In its first ‘chapter’, the film reveals how most of the population of the Marshall Islands in the Pacific were unwittingly made into nuclear guinea pigs in a programme whose secrets – and astonishing archive – are related to the presence of a missile base now targeting China. The Coming War on China will be released in cinemas in the UK on December 1st and broadcast on ITV (in the UK) on December 6th.

UN Syria Envoy de Mistura: « Rebel » shelling of civilians in Aleppo appalling and shocking

United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura said he is « appalled and shocked by the high number of rockets indiscriminately launched by armed opposition groups » that killed scores of civilians in Aleppo over the last 48 hours, a statement released by de Mistura’s office says.

Scores of civilians, including several children, were killed while hundreds of others were wounded in « relentless and indiscriminate » attacks carried out by opposition groups in the western districts of Aleppo, according to the UN statement.

« Those who argue that this is meant to relieve the siege of eastern Aleppo should be reminded that nothing justifies the use of disproportionate, indiscriminate [attacks,] including heavy weapons on civilian areas and it could amount to war crimes, » de Mistura said.

Comment: Appalling yes, shocking no. This is an exact repeat of the « rebel » offensive in August. Back then, the West was cheering the jihadists’ attempt to « break the siege » and come to the aid of their jihadist brethren in eastern Aleppo. But what is true in this latest offensive was true back then too: relentless, indiscriminate attacks on civilian populations, carried out by jihadists. The jihadists are guilty of everything the West blames on Russia and Assad: indiscriminate attacks, killing civilians. They use Aleppo’s residents as human shields, refuse to accept any truce. But Western media seem to have a love affair with the worst elements of human society, and cheer them on. That should be shocking.

Why did Putin say no to more airstrikes in Aleppo?

The big event in Aleppo on 28th October 2016 was the Al-Qaeda led Jihadi counter-offensive intended to break the siege of the Jihadi controlled eastern districts of the city.

The Russian military is reporting that it has failed to make much headway, and this seems to be confirmed by reports from the city. If so Putin may be calculating that air support from the Russian air force for the moment simply isn’t needed, though he is trying to cover his position by giving the Russian military the option to intervene immediately if the situation changes.

Whilst that makes a kind of sense, it still begs many questions.

Hillary Clinton may still be ahead in most national polls, but at least one expert remains convinced that Donald Trump will be our next president.

American University Professor Allen J. Lichtman, who has accurately predicted the winner of every presidential election since 1984, first forecast a victory for the GOP nominee during an interview with the Washington Post last month. Granted, this was before the release of the now-infamous « Access Hollywood » tape, followed by mounting allegations of sexual misconduct, which Trump has attempted to counter with claims that the election is rigged and that the media is conspiring against him. Meanwhile, the tense presidential debates concluded with the suggestion from Trump that he might not accept the outcome of the election if he is not the winner.

Despite all this, however, Lichtman has not wavered from his prediction.

Forced to flee, an Aleppo resident’s ordeal in ‘Death Corridor’

Khaled Kadura, a small business owner, and his family were forced to flee eastern Aleppo, leaving everything they had behind, because Ahrar al-Sham rebels turned their life into a « tragedy, » terrorizing those who could not fight back and spreading lies about Damascus, he told Sputnik.

This is his story:
For Khaled, who hired out furniture for weddings, and other Aleppo residents the war came as a surprise. No one could have said that their lives would change so dramatically in an instant, but this is exactly what happened on July 26, 2012.

« Everything was peaceful when we fell asleep on the fifth day of Ramadan in 2012. When we woke up, the rebels were there. Initially they took control of the police station, killing law enforcement officers and imposed a curfew, » he recalled. « Then they started terrorizing those who could not fight back. »

The rebels showered locals with promises of a better life and threats of what Damascus and its forces would do to them, but those were empty words. The militants turned schools and hospitals into command centers. As a result, Khaled’s eight-year-old son and others children could no longer go to school.

A business owner in Manhattan is suing the city after being forced to waive his fourth amendment rights and potentially forfeit his business because an NYPD officer sold illegal goods at his store.

You read that right.

According to a lawsuit filed this month by the Institute for Justice, a libertarian legal advocacy group, an undercover NYPD detective attempted to sell stolen electronics to customers at Sung Cho’s laundromat in Inwood, which located near the northern tip of Manhattan, in 2013. After the officer successfully sold stolen goods to two people — one inside the store and one outside — the city threatened Cho with eviction « merely because a ‘stolen property’ offense had happened at his business, » the legal organization’s website explained.

Institute for Justice (IJ), which takes on cases involving the suppression of free speech, eminent domain, and civil asset forfeiture, among other government encroachments, detailed Cho’s case:

In a show of kindness and solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux, actor Mark Ruffalo and Native Renewables founder Wahleah Johns presented Sioux tribal elders with mobile trailers equipped with solar collection arrays. The trailers provide a clean energy source for the protest encampment where over 500 Native American tribes have taken a stand against the Dakota Access Pipeline in the largest gathering of American Indians in modern history.

« This pipeline is a black snake that traverses four states and 200 waterways with fracked Bakken oil, » said Ruffalo, co-founder of The Solutions Project, a venture that works to transition society to clean and renewable energy.

« We know from experience that pipelines leak, explode, pollute and poison land and water. But it doesn’t have to be that way. »

The solar trailers will allow for medical tents and numerous other critical facilities to be powered with clean energy, and represent exactly the healthy/abundant future of energy for which the Standing Rock Sioux are currently fighting.

President Francois Hollande has vowed to tear down any improvised migrant camps that may spring up after the closure of the infamous ‘Jungle’ in Calais, saying that France « will not tolerate » such chaotic sites anymore.

Speaking at a reception center for asylum seekers in Maine-et-Loire, Hollande reflected on the dismantling of the infamous camp at Calais and promised to deal with any more camps in exactly the same manner.

« This is not sustainable. We will do the same operation as Calais and welcome them to the [reception] centers, » he said. « We could no longer tolerate the camps and we will not tolerate them. »

A sex addict Church of England vicar who took part in orgies, visited gay saunas and collected « perverted » pornography has been sacked after his estranged wife exposed his double life.

Reverend James Day’s actions amounted to « conduct unbecoming and inappropriate, » a Church of England tribunal found. It has banned him from ministry for life.

Speaking at the tribunal in London, Birte Day said she had collected evidence showing her husband had taken part in group sex, attempted to set up meetings with prostitutes and used a fake name to meet new partners.

She said her husband had stored « a substantial amount » of porn on his computer, which she collected on memory sticks presented to the tribunal, according to the Telegraph.

« There were about 50 short films of men and women in scenes of sexual pleasure and orgies, at least 100 sketches of naked women being tortured and burned, a scene of a gladiator being hit and tortured, many images of naked young men… and other sexually explicit material. »

Israeli speaker claims he was more scared trapped in a room by Palestinian protesters at London University than he was in the IDF

Police were called after pro-Palestinian protesters stormed an Israel event at a London university, yelling « shame, shame » and trapping attendees in the room the talk was being held in, it has been reported.

Israeli activist Hen Mazzig was addressing a group at University College London (UCL) on Thursday about the conflict between Israel and Palestine when protesters from the Friends of Palestine Society tried to stop his speech by chanting: »From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free. »
Comment: While violence is never condoned, the anger that groups such as Friends of Palestine feel is certainly justified, their violence is a mal-formed expression of this rage, possibly due to no actual change coming about. Instead of condemning the Pro-Palestinian protesters maybe the Union of Jewish students could look in the mirror and apply what they have accused the protesters of creating: « a wall of intolerance and intimidation aimed at shutting down free speech. » to what their own nation is doing to the Palestinians.

Catherine Austin Fitts: What’s About to Happen to the Economy (VIDEO)

« How is the government going to get people to pay their taxes if the government is not viewed as legitimate? » ~ Catherine Austin Fitts

The world economy is designed to fail through the mechanism of a banking system that requires all users of money to pay usury every time a transaction takes place. In this way, the financial systems of the world can be manipulated into a managed collapse, thereby causing global chaos so that the world’s nations and citizens can be tricked into demanding a global currency managed a global elite.

Problem, reaction, solution. Economic hit man John Perkins wrote about this strategy as it was used in the 20th century to bring developing nations under the control of the international monetary fund and transnational profiteers, and at present this scheme is being globalized.

« If an EHM is completely successful, the loans are so large that the debtor is forced to default on its payments after a few years. When this happens, then like the Mafia we demand our pound of flesh. This often includes one or more of the following: control over United Nations votes, the installation of military bases, or access to precious resources such as oil or the Panama Canal. Of course, the debtor still owes us the money—and another country is added to our global empire. » ~John Perkins, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man

On the Feast of Christ the King: What’s in a Date?
Brian Williams Brian Williams October 30, 2016 3 Comments

So what’s in a date? One Peter Five contributor Dr. Peter Kwasniewski asked that question recently when discussing the Church’s celebration for the Feast of Christ the King. The feast itself was instituted by Pope Pius XI with his encyclical Quas Primas (11 December 1925). The Holy Father states clearly his purpose for instituting such a universal feast day:

“The Church, founded by Christ as a perfect society, has a natural and inalienable right to perfect freedom and immunity from the power of the state; and that in fulfilling the task committed to her by God of teaching, ruling, and guiding to eternal bliss those who belong to the kingdom of Christ, she cannot be subject to any external power.”

(…)

“Nations will be reminded by the annual celebration of this feast that not only private individuals but also rulers and princes are bound to give public honor and obedience to Christ. It will call to their minds the thought of the last judgment, wherein Christ, who has been cast out of public life, despised, neglected and ignored, will most severely avenge these insults; for his kingly dignity demands that the State should take account of the commandments of God and of Christian principles, both in making laws and in administering justice, and also in providing for the young a sound moral education.”

“The faithful, moreover, by meditating upon these truths, will gain much strength and courage, enabling them to form their lives after the true Christian ideal. If to Christ our Lord is given all power in heaven and on earth; if all men, purchased by his precious blood, are by a new right subjected to his dominion; if this power embraces all men, it must be clear that not one of our faculties is exempt from his empire. He must reign in our minds…He must reign in our wills…He must reign in our hearts…He must reign in our bodies and in our members…”

Understanding the full purpose of a feast day to honor the rule of Christ Our King, let’s now turn to the reasoning and intent behind the date selected by Pope Pius XI. As Dr. Kwasniewsi explains:

“One of the most egregious differences between the two calendars (in the Latin Rite) is the location of the Feast of the Kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ. In the old calendar, it is always celebrated on the last Sunday of the month of October, right before All Saints. In the new calendar, however, it is the last Sunday of the liturgical year, leading up to the First Sunday of Advent…”

“Pius XI’s intention…is to emphasize the glory of Christ as terminus of His earthly mission, a glory and mission visible and perpetuated in history by the saints. Hence the feast falls shortly before the Feast of All Saints, to emphasize that what Christ inaugurated in His own person before ascending in glory, the saints then instantiate and carry further in human society, culture, and nations. It is a feast primarily about celebrating Christ’s ongoing kingship over all reality, including this present world, where the Church must fight for the recognition of His rights, the actual extension of His dominion to all domains, individual and social.”

Dr. Kwasniewski further notes:

“Indeed, there’s also the obvious fact, unmentioned in Quas Primas but surely in everyone’s mind, that the last Sunday in October had, for centuries, been celebrated as Reformation Sunday. A Catholic counter-feast, reminding the world not only of the comprehensive Kingship of Jesus Christ—so often denied socially and culturally by various teachings of Protestantism—but also of the worldwide kingly authority of His Church, would certainly be a reasonable application of the principle lex orandi, lex credendi.”

“In the liturgical reforms following the Second Vatican Council, its place was changed to the last Sunday of the Church year—that is, so that one week later would fall the first Sunday of Advent. This new position emphasizes rather the eschatological dimension of Christ’s kingship…”

“Though both placements are defensible, it would seem that Pius XI’s intention, consistent with the encyclical as a whole, was more to insist on the rights of Jesus Christ here and now, and the corresponding duties of men and nations on earth…”

“From this vantage, which certainly does not sound like the language of Dignitatis Humanae or the postconciliar diplomacy of the Church, it is hard to resist thinking that the eschatological perspective betrays weak knees before the challenge of modern secularization, as well as hesitation about the perceived “triumphalism” of the earlier papal social teaching. In other words, the kingship of Christ is palatable and proclaimable so long as its realization comes at the end of time, and does not impinge too much on the political and social order right now—or on the Church’s responsibility to convert the nations, invigorate their cultures, and transform their laws by the light of the Faith.”

In the end, whether celebrated in late October according to the old calendar, or this Sunday according to the new, ultimately the Feast of Christ the King reminds us that it is Our Lord who rules over Heaven and Earth, and all persons and principalities are subject to his reign.
